■You can get involved in the community. You can be a VOLUNTEER! The Latino community needs people of action, good role models, and good leaders to help bring more of us to the next level!
■"I'm already too busy." Maybe not. The old saying of "if you want to get something done, ask a busy person" applies here. Try it out!
■As a volunteer, you can learn how to organize, administer & coordinate, manage, teach, and lead while working with your group. Your valuable experience will also include goal setting, planning, team building, and additional, useful skills.
■No experience is necessary. THIS IS WHERE YOU WILL GET THAT EXPERIENCE! Plus, you'll build up your confidence level in running the show, too!
■If you have kids, maybe you can become a volunteer leader for a new group that they're joining!
■Anytime is a good time to volunteer, but the start of the school year is a graet time to get involved. This is usually when many volunteer opportunities abound.
■You can help out in a lot of places at many different levels and with varying time commitments: possibly Scouting, schools, church, hospitals, great organizations like the Red Cross, etc.
■You'll help others & make a positive difference in your community, & get some great leadership experience, too!
