Overcoming Adversity: Esta en tu Sangre!
Esta en tu sangre!
Latinos everywhere are trying to solve problems, deal with issues, meet challenges, overcome obstacles, and seize opportunities!
They may not realize it at the time, but this makes them stronger, builds their character, shows their courage, and gives them useful experience when trying to achieve even bigger goals.
Maybe you have family issues, personal problems, job concerns, or other things that are putting up a huge roadblock for you. Remember that Latinos have been faced with, and have had to deal with, similar issues for a long time. From poverty and a weak economy to other challenges, many Latinos have or are in the process of overcoming this adversity. For Latinos, overcoming adversity is in our blood. Esta en tu sangre!
The key thing here is for you to keep moving forward. And, if it's "two steps forward and one step back" like the old saying goes, then you're still moving in the right direction!
Stay on it. Never give up!
Even we at Latino Alliance have been facing challenges. These issues lead to doubts. But, we go back to our mission and our vision, and to our belief that no one is REALLY doing anything like this, and we continue to move forward. We become motivated and inspired by all of the beautiful Latino people out there with so much great potential and so much to offer. And, we hear and see examples of courage, character, and achievement that help us keep our focus on our goals. We are taking our own advice!
Champion of Character
Our youngest Latino Alliance Advisory Board member, 22-year old Vlad Saldaña, came to the US from Santo Domingo at age 10. Now, he's just graduated from UMASS/Lowell with a dual degree in Business Finance & Management. See his story under Champions of Character!
